Startup- SD+AV takes 3 min. to activate and no net connection til it does
Just installed SD+AV 5.5.1.322 yesterday. I'm having a problem w/ Vista startup, which I've isolated to SD. Upon Vista boot, the SD icon in the tray says "disconnected" if you mouse over it for the first 2-3 minutes, and during that time the network icon is X'd out and the internet can't be used (in this case, a wifi connection). Are there any fixes for this that anyone knows of? I couldn't find any via a search.
I'm also having a problem w/ the OnGuard E-mail protection, which I posted separately.
Thx.

Hi gmccowboy,
Try disabling SD, reboot and manually start SD once everything has loaded. See if the 'disconnected' is displayed on the SD icon.
Have replied to the EG issue in the other thread

well that X'd out icon always appear on my Vista machine at start up without any security software installed. When it's fully loaded everything works fine anyway. Maybe SD slowed your system down a little that you now see that icon

Anthony, thanks - I did try disabling SD to start at boot. Manually starting SD, SD works fine with no "disconnected"; it's just at boot that this happens. I did the same w/ Comodo firewall with the same results. The no internet connection occurs whether SD or Comodo start at boot or they don't.
Ditto - I didn't have the problem til using SD & Comodo. Internet came right up when using iolo AV & FW, and on my desktop, this problem does not exist. Something happened during installation of SD or Comodo. I can pinpoint it to that. Because I usually need my laptop when I turn it on, I don't want to have to wait to use the net.

Think I resolved this. I did some research online and found a bunch of others having this problem (unrelated to Spyware Doc). I disabled the "Workstation" service, and although there is still a slight delay with no net connection while Spyware Doc initializes, it's about half as long as before.
