I'm back and i'm shocked.
After my last thread of being out, I was just going to post in there, but I didn't think it was right, I知 quick enough to moan, but three days ago I missed swd so much, I thought oh well I値l try again.
I closed my eyes during the installation, but hu to my surprise perfect, update and asked to reboot, I thought here we go but no, perfect, had it on for 7hours yesterday, tracked my cpu usage, fine apart from scans but when can you expect.
I don't know what pctools have done, but what ever they have done they've done it right, I知 still worried I知 jumping the gun, but serious bloody good job pctools, loving it atm, no problems at all even went through a perfect second update just now, it's very fast a little sluggish starting it up of the task bar, but other than that I知 well happy, and I知 back woo hoo.

Welcome back Cutter
Keep your fingers crossed - nearly everyone has SD 5 working smoothly at the mo - apart from a bit of extra CPU on scanning. Happy days!!
The main topic of discussion now centres quite rightly on PCTools payment policy and who gets a discount.
Come on PCT - now you've ironed out the software, do a bit of improving in your accounting practices - a worldwide standard price with relevant discount for whatever you decide (automatic renewal etc.) would seem to be fair.

Cutter,
I am glad you are happy and back. The board has quieted down a lot recently which I was hoping meant that issues were being resolved.
I would encourage people to go to places like CNET and write reviews of SD 5. It will help get the word out that it is once again a good application. People (myself included) tend to take the time to write when they are not happy and angry. We should remember to write when something has been rectified. I do believe these folks at PC Tools were working hard behind the scenes to fix this.

swannie - I bought it again on fleebay at a great price to, no funny stuff like before which i reported to pctools when it happened.
tig2020 - I'm a guy, well i was last time i checked
debls - I agree, i still feel like i'm walking on egg shells only because i just come back with pctools, but even after the few days of usage i feel safe keeping spyware doc as my main scanner, nothing has got through that anything else has found.
Thanks all for the welcome back, really looks like they've turned it around, i'm even online and playing a game at the same time with swd5 running, something i haven't dared to do in a long time.

cutter, you didn't say which version of SD that you installed, SD 4.1 or SD 5 (5.1?).. what is the build number of the version of SD that you have installed?
incidentally, what is the current version of SD, SD 5? "hunter" mentions a "SD 5.1", but i don't see an announcement of a "SD 5.1", anywhere..
as far as problems with SD 5, well i am not so critical of PCTools about that.. the same thing has happened with other antimalware vendors (and other software vendors, in general) where new versions of their products had problems that had to be ironed out..

I downloaded version 5 from this site it says: product version 5.0.1.205 with database version 5.07800 if that's any help to you.

thanks.. i see it is build 5.0.1.205 so there must not be any "SD 5.1".. i thought maybe there was a newly revamped version of SD 5, a SD 5.1, like the revamped SD 4.1..
