Question Auto update Fails&Manual Fails

After installing SD5.0.1.205 I got an initial "install" update and the today I get "auto update failed"and manual fails also Ive done all the suggestions found in support including......d/l&install update module, added the3 sdvexe, etc. to the "exceptions on firewall,Ive disabled firewall & AntiVirus(AVG),Ive checked the "direct connection" box, and kernel compatibity, uninstalled & reinstalled and followed above steps again with no results. Ive cursed yelled, stood on 1 foot in a clown suit on the 7 hole at golf course at our Country Club then, faced the east under a full moon while reciting the gettysburg address for an hour then the other foot but this time sang it in french but that got interupted by the sheriff dept wondering why I was on the course at 2am with a computer and no clubs at which time I explained that due to the frustrations of Spyware Doctors Smart Update feature my clubs were in the pond. Does anyone have a better way of resolving this issue? My mental status has now become a topic of conversation here and is hampering the possibilities of my being re-elected as our mayor. Thanks

Is this the first time you started using SDv5? if not, have you been able to get the updates on previous version 5?

I just ran an update and all is well... the latest database version is 5.07760. I believe a newer db version should be released some time today.

Temporarily disable your AV or Firewall, to see if this allows the updates. Sometimes these programs block the update from happening. Try adding the following to the allowed list on your firewall and AV if it allows it - update.exe, swdsvc.exe and swdoctor.exe.

Cheers,
Chippa
