new version available
This might be me as I'm still contentedly using sd 4.0. But when I boot on my laptop spyware doc is now telling me a new version is available and asking if I want to upgrade. This happened a couple of months ago and then stopped. I don't think the demand to upgrade box is appearing on my desktops yet. All machines should have the same 4.0 version. Maybe its time for me to try the 5.0. I'd just had hope to wait a bit longer
Advice?
thanks

I see by your join date and post count that you've been around for the whole dog-and-pony show, so why are you asking? If you have a sense of adventure, the system resources, and the time and patience to reformat and reinstall, go with V5. If not, give 4.1 a try.

Thats really up to you. Some people have no problems with SDv5, whereas others do... I've been running SDv5 from the beginning of the beta stages and final releases and have seen a major improvement in the latest builds. I have it running on several machines, both XP and Vista machines and some with the AV plugin and haven't really come across any major problems.
Cheers,
Chippa

Thanks Anthony for removing it. However, how do I get rid of it from my laptop. Is there a file I can remove. I have updated doctor and downloaded dats but the no version available demand box still is appearing. Other machines are still free and clear of the annoyance
thanks

With the number of final releases, I am not sure how many we have released to be exact. But we will continue to release new builds as the developers are constantly working to improve SD. Scanning methods, the engine, bugs found in previous versions, new tools etc.
