Default Please Help: CA Anti-virus 5.0.0.176 Smart Update

I know many of you have not been able to get Smart Update to work with NIS or Zone Alarm. I also wanted to inform you all that it does not work with Computer Associates Anti-Virus as well. I even tried to disable, and it will not work. I have found no way to get updates on this new version 5.0.0.176 or any other version 5. Anyone have any ideas? I cant get it to work at all to get updates. Running XP Home SP2 with 2 GB ram.

Please help as we do not want to go back to version 4. All seems fine other than smart update.

If you have disabled CA Antivirus and you still cannot get the updates then something else is probably blocking the updates. If you check the reported issues page, you'll see that the Smart Update issues with Norton have been fixed. To help with this, you may need to disable your other security software to determine which is blocking it.
