version 5.0.0.174 Did Not Work For Me
version 5.0.0.174 without AV.
Well once again took the plunge to try the new version of SD.System XP Pro service pack 2 all updates kaspersky 5 AV and ZA firewall no other protection tools.Unistalled 4 ran reg mechanic reboot.Disabled firewall and AV installed SD version 5.0.0.174 all went well.Asked me if I wanted to update I said no then everything froze for about 5 minutes then asked to reboot. After reboot it took much longer to load, finally the little icon turned green flashing.I then tried to open from task bar nothing, just the hour glass for ages.Still no sign of the program to change settings etc.Could not open any program nothing could not even run the uninstaller.Tried everything but all now froze,so powered off and reboot into safe mode.Safe mode tried to run uninstaller got a error box something like explorer sdexe exception not allowed. So I run a program called your uninstaller 2006, again the same exception error but it forced a uninstall. So after about 2 hours of messing to get this SD 5 off my machine it worked.Back into windows normal mode, ran ccleaner then registry mechanic. Then reinstall SD 4 all went perfect done update then a full scan with out any problem at all.Seem like 5 don't like my machine have 1 half gig of ram and a 3.2ghz processor, and have never experience ever the problems with this SD5 will stick to 4 now till its all sorted. At least 4 works like it should do,and to be honest fed up of beta testing software for PC Tools,we must be the tools for letting this happen.

Hi padi,
There are still issues with conflicts between SDv5, Kaspersky and McAfee. The developers are currently working on a fix for these issues.
I have disabled your AV plugin as requested in your PM.
Kinda Regards,
Support.

Well have tried it with the AV disabled same result, and my kaspersky disabled same result.SD Icon in the task bar green blinking but right click or any click the scroll box comes up then have dance around the desk top.But when it finally stops tried to click for to show program to adjust settings. Then nothing except the hour glass for ages, then total freeze. Then click reset button get into safe mode, and then had to use a third party uninstaller, because the one in SD 174.Came up with some message about SD exe protection or something like that. All in all I lost about 2 hours work again, now I work from home and down time costs myself money. So I will stick to 4 at least that one works well and has protected my PC well for well over 12 months. This SD version 5 has caused me more problems than any Window OS ever since windows 95.

24 hours ago I was happy. SD v5.0.0.174 (without a/v) seemed to be working fine. Then awhile ago it did an auto-update, even though I had disabled a/u (I don't auto-update anything!). I then tried to open the interface to check the setting, but it wouldn't open. So I tried to kill the whole thing with the Task Manager and start over, but it wouldn't let me! (A program I can't control with TM doesn't belong on my machine.) To top it all I get a message I've never seen before. Basically it's a BSOD saying "Windows has shut down before committing suicide by continuing."

Hi Keith,
That quote on your BSOD message is just the funniest 'techie' humour I've seen for a long time and the black humour in your new signature! You just crack me up, (as we say in Ireland) LOL.
On the not so funny side, sorry your experiencing problems with SD5 again.
Seeing Padi's posts here and Support confirming there are still conflicts with Kaspersky, I shall just wait a while longer and stick with 'ye old faithful' SD4!
