Default 5.00.174 completely incompatible with SAVCE 10.1

Have just tried installing SD 5.00.174 but on reboot it causes Symantec AntiVirus Corporate edition 10.1.6.6000 to throw multiple errors from the rtvscan.exe process and XP runs like an absolute dog.

Uninstall SD and all works perfectly again.

I have Symantec Corporate Edition 10.1.5.5000 and SD5.0.0.174 without the AV plug-in causes NO problems. Make sure you are not running the AV plug-in - even when disabled as I have seen this happen before...

You need to uninstall Spyware Doctor completely and re-install after deleting the Spyware Doctor program files folder and cleaning up yr registry (use RM).
XP runs perfectly well witht the standalone SD5

Cool Symantec AV conflict

I've seen posts on this. Its a bug in Norton, not Spyware Doctor. Norton shouldn't spit a dummy like this. Its a well known fact Norton is not very sociable, they don't need to be, they have over 50% market share in AV. I stopped using them 3 years ago for reasons like this. I don't think there is a way around this except going back to SD 4.0 and waiting for PC Tools and Symantec to resolve the conflict.

Hi AnthonyB,

Your e-mail address at time of purchase or order number should be fine.
