Angry how to do complete uninstall of SD 5.0??

hi, i tried to uninstall SD 5.0 so i can reinstall SD 4.0, but i got an error message when i tried to delete to last remaining folder from program files. the message was" can not delete syslog.dad: access denied. make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use". how can i get rid of this folder. i want to have a fresh start when i reinstall SD 4.0. being a long time SD user on 3 of my PCs, i must say i am very disappointed with new 5.0 release. it has been a nightmare since i upgraded it. fortunately, i only installed it on 2 of my PCs. both suffered from it. i do not think it has anything to do with nortons or mcaffee because i have nortons in one PC and mcaffee in the other one. i think i will wait for a few months until all the bugs are out of it before i upgrade again to SD 5.0. robert

Robert, the previous version of SD had some uninstall bug in it. But seems that this has now been fixed. To remove this completely, you will need to install SDv5 again from http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/upgrade/. Since you have this installed, you may want to test it. I have downloaded it earlier today and it has been running really well. I experienced the major slow downs in all the previous version, ie, refreshing of IE pages, slow browsing, major slow downs and so on, but it appears all is up and running quite well. Don't want to get to carried away just in case lol. If however, you wish to go back to v4, exit SDv5, uninstall it, remove the folder from c:\Program Files\Spyware Doctor if its still there, then install SDv4. This should work just fine.

Just incase it doesnt, it may be possible that a file is being used by another process thats why you get the message that 'access denied' message. To fix this an uninstall in safemode will do the trick.

Cheers,
Chippa
