Default Helppp 2 Problems

I just purchased and downloaded Spyware Doctor. I am getting the error message "Error while creating the log: Class not registered." Then the program shuts down. I have tried uninstalling three times and re installing but the same error message comes up. Does anyone know what my problem is here? Help!



ALSO WEN I OPEN SPYWARE DOCTOR IT SAYS THAT SPYWARE DOCTOR ERROR CODE 258 PLZE SMEBODY HELP ME

What operating system are you running, and what other software do you have installed (McAfee, Norton, etc.)?

I think you just made a bad mistake. I'm not going to buy a new product from Pctools' ever, unless they begged me on their knees and gave me a satisfactory answer to why they screwed up so badly.

If you just purchased the Spyware Doctor from PCTOOLS' website, you may be able to get a refund within 30 days after your purchase. I would recommend that. If not:

I suggest you uninstall the Spyware Doctor. I could give you some hints about how to remove the remains of that corpse, but those hints could be dangerous if you don't know EXACTLY what you are doing. Hopefully just deinstalling will work.

Then you can reinstall VERSION 4 (NOT the new version 5 !!!). There are some links to version 4 on this website, or just ask support. Version 4 is far from perfect, but at least it's (usually) not a disaster.

Oh, and if you install version 4, I recommend that you go to Tools, Check Smart Update for new tools, and just do a regular smart update. (main page, Status, smart update).

SD 5.0 is working. We are, however, experiencing a number of unforeseen challenges that are expected when breaking into new territory. We have extensively tested this product and we have even delayed its launch for several months. Even with that, we have had some surprises that we are currently fixing. We are going to make immediate improvements to the product and simultaneously let our customers know how to best utilize the stronger elements of the new Spyware Doctor as further improvements are made. As you know, we are using a new platform that further improves the malware search and destroy elements cherished in the earlier versions of Spyware Doctor.

2. Why did it go to the market when it wasn't ready?

SD 5.0 was extensively tested. Just as Microsoft’s VISTA is experiencing growing pains, we are facing several challenges that did not appear in our earlier extensive testing program. We are adjusting the product to immediately respond to these issues.

3. Why didn't we test it more thoroughly?

It is not possible—given the extensive range of technological changes to the product—to respond to every bug or challenge despite our extensive testing phase. We thought we had caught the major challenges and were ready for a smooth launch. Our experienced development team has already begun resolving the major issues.

We greatly apologize for any inconvenience and are working to resolving all the issues found with SD.

I remeber that error message, with older Spyware Doctor's, i suggest an upgrade will fix the problem

What should make everyone extremely alarmed is that I believe that PC Tools probably did do extensive testing and they still released such an inferior product.

Well what I have read most of the faults we are now having were showing in
the 169 beta version.But it was still released to the general public,that version crashed my PC so did 172.And the latest 174 again will not work for me after several attempts, but 4 will without any problem.

We are working with each of our customers to resolve their issues quickly. We are providing an updated approach that will fix problems immediately and these will provide a foundation for improvements in the future as we add additional features to this product. The advantage to this new platform for innovation is that it has a modular design to help make quick changes.

We plan to help our customers on a case-by-case basis. We will first fix the product and handle any inconvenience customers face individually. Customers will quickly see once we have resolved these issues that SD 5.0 is much stronger than earlier versions of SD.

SD 5.0 is a great product. It may have faced a few bumps as it is being launched, but it will be a market leader in testing and it will provide customers with even greater security than they have with our current award-winning Spyware Doctor security software.
