Default Runtime Errors

PCTAV.EXE continually throws runtime errors. Anyone else experiencing this problem? Anyone else having problems with the PC Tools Technical Support?

Hi
What kind of runtime errors are you experiencing? Are they Microsoft C++ runtime errors?

Yes. I provided Tech Support with log files and a screen shot of the error. The errors are sparodic. Tech Support seems inept so far. I cannot pin down a pattern or establish a cause.

Could you try disabling the 2 functions of Internet Guard in Onguard to see if this helps? Some people have noticed that this helps.

Internet and FTP filtering was never turned on. I'm using the default configuration.

Oh. Ok. Are you running any other security software at all?

No other security software is running. This is a clean XP Pro Service Pack 2 install. Just reinstalled with all critical updates applied. Nothing installed other than PCAV and video, wireless lan and modem drivers.

Slevit,

About the problems with our technical support, could you please send me a PM to see what the status of your ticket is?

Thanks,

Support

Default runtime errors

Hi All
Re this problem - you may care to view my post (#6) on this thread. http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45952
Mostly happens when I try to open an email in an IMAP account in Thunderbird.

cheers
Pete

The status...After 4 unanswered emails to support@pctools.com beginning on 3/19 and 2 ticketed submissions by me on 3/22 there had been no response from anyone until yesterday. Sad to say, though, the Technical Support Representative doesn't seem to want to understand the problem and is shooting solutions from the hip. Do you want the ticket number?
