Default update access

I need to know the url or the ip address of the antivirus update server. I have pctools antivirus on my laptop and cannot update it when I am in the office. This is because our internet access is restricted to a "white list". I would like to add the update address to the white list.

Hey wbblythe,

Add the domain pctools.com into the whitelist.

Cheers,

Default updater

pctools.com is already on our white list. I am accesssing this forum right now through the proxy server. Updater will still not connect. Adding the machine to the proxy exempt group and allowing direct access (NOT a permanent option) solves the problem.

If pctools.com is all we need to access, then I suspect the updater is hard coded to a specific port. This network requires users to access the proxy server on port 3128.

If I am correct, then this is something your development team should look at. In today's world of increased threats and various security solutions, software is really going to need to auto-detect internet connection settings and/or allow for manual configuration.

Thanks for your help.

Please add the following domain su.pctools.com to the whitelist.

If this does not allow the update, the AV developers will need to investigate this further.

Please do let me know how you go with this.
