Hi stumpybloke,

If you exit PCTAV, are you able to access the internet?

Or even try disabling OnGuard to see if you can access the net.

We've seen this mentioned in a couple of forums now, but have not seen it in testing before. Our QA and Development teams are now looking at it.

Thanks

Unhappy

Hiya Guys,

I recently downloaded the PCTAV and also found that i could not access my emails via Hotmail. It kept coming up with Buffer Overun Detected! and made me close the application down everytime. I googled and most results said that this was a parasite/virus. The only way to sort the problem was to do a system restore as uninstalling the program did not help!

Hi,

I think it is a known issue and PC Tools developers are working on it.

Try disabling "Internet Guard" and "Email Guard" from the "OnGuard" tools and check whether the problem persists while you are browsing and using your email.

1. Open PC Tools AntiVirus
2. OnGuard> Internet Guard
3. Click on the underlined text next to "Internet Browser Filter: " ("ON" to "OFF") and "File Transfer Filter:" ("ON" to "OFF") .
4. Then goto "Email Guard"
5. Click on the underlined text next to " Outgoing Email Filter(SMTP):" ("ON" to "OFF") and "Incoming Email Filter(POP3/IMAP4): " ("ON" to "OFF").

Thanks

Default Internet Guard has a Bug!

No website access or at least very very slow access. I realized that the problem is bug in IE so I installed FireFox also the problem continued. I upgraded to IE7 also the problem continued. The problem appeared in Download managers too such as FlashGet and Fresh download.

The most notable thing is Outlook express worked fine.

The web browsers seems to have not the ability to connect to the Internet.

When I turned off the Internet Guard, everything goes fine.

Please fix this bug quickly.

Hi Said,

Just to let you know that the Internet Guard should be fixed in the new version which will be released some time this month.
