Trying to fix IE but have this problem..... (WXP-Pro)

Hi I've set the temp files to 10mb and deleted it's content ,
now I've a "but" question,
in the elder geek site they suggest to run sfc /scannow for the IE repair,
and I did the run sfc /scannow thing and after a couple of min, a pop up shield ask to insert the wxp pro into the rom bay,
(that was easy cause after a couple of years on a pc, I came to the conclusion that that was not a coffee cup holder after all, and what shocking a disappointment.!..)
so now did that and clicked OK, and the wxp pro install shield come up
I minimize it, and now on the desktop a scanning from sfc progress bar is stated,
but after a good 20 min or so the progress bar isn't moving at all ,
so by using my cursor I drag the scanner bar shield down a little,
and under it's the first shield with the request for the wxp cd,

at the bottom there is a button for more details,
so I clicked on it,
and a dialog box tells me that the wxp pro cd in not inserted or the incorrect cd version etc, etc.
And here is the "BUT" question.
The cd in the bay is the correct wxp pro cd, and the one that wxp pro is installed from, "and in mint condition",and my question is: " For crying out laud what is going on here" PS I did this a couple of times to make sure it's a problem and I got the same results. This plot is thickening, and there is a need for "expert" advice
