Default Int. Explorer 6.0 - Spell Checker (WXP-Home)

When I try to check the spelling on an outgoing e-mail IE tells me "An error occured while spelling was being checked". Help indicates IE used the spell checker from Microsoft Word. I made sure the speller was installed in MS Word. The menu selections in IE Tools/Options/Spelling are active. Anyone have a thought? Everything else about IE seems to be OK.

Thanks, Jim

I had the same problem and I found this answer (it worked by the way):
Spell Check Not Working With Outlook Express and Office97
Added 11/23/02

This is simply due to a missing or corrupted DLL file

Go to the i386 directory of your XP source files
Run Expand csapi3t1.dl_ csapi3t1.dll (Note: If your source files are on a CD, you will need to put a path before the csapi3t1.dll since you can't write to the CD).
Copy the file to the Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Proof directory
