IE6 closing on 'post' (WXP-Pro)

Strange problem.
IE6 closes on using 'post'; eg: hitting the search button on google.
Funny thing is IE6 browser fine works via AOL s/w.
I havent installed anything in the last week or so and the problem has only started in the last 24 hrs.
Any help appreciated.
