Default Causes Blue Screen (WXP-Home)

I constantly have a problem with IE6, and it appears to be related to links I've tucked away in my Favorites folders. As I'm scrolling through to get to a certain one, I'll suddenly get a Blue Screen upon which I have to turn off the PC and reboot. I was told by HP support that I had to reinstall Windows XP HE, save all my files, restore, reformat my hard drive, etc. but none of those things has solved the problem for good. My AV kicks me off to the Blue Screen when it gets to the Favorites folder as well. I've gone through and deleted some old, incomplete links, but still have the problem. I've run every portion of Fix-It Utilities, and still the problem remains. I'm running an HP Pavilion 761 built to order. Otherwise, I have no problem with the computer or any of the software.
