Default Multiple occurences of IE running on Win XP Pro (?) (WXP-Pro)

Does anyone know why there would be an IE running in Task Manager even after I've closed IE?
I have noticed that this can be stopped manually in Task Mananger, but it will re-occur as sson as you re-launch IE, and then shut it down.
Is this some kond of Windows service running?
I am using NAV Pro, Zonealarm and not much else.
Is there a setting in IE itself that will stop this?
Thanks for any comments.

Is it iexplorer.exe? (NOT iexplore.exe) iexplorer.exe is a trojan, and you will need a killer like Spybot: Search and Destroy to kill it.

Also, I assume you are using IE6. Have you updated it? Sometimes problems like that are fixed in the updates.

Hope this works.

Maybe no help, but FYI:

I have this happen from time to time. It usually happens when I haven't restarted the computer for a couple of weeks and I have been putting my old system under a strain with trying to do too much too fast. It seems to be cured by a refreshing power-down and reboot.
