Can you right click on them and select merge?

If not you can merge them with the command line version of regedit. Just type regedit filename.reg at the command prompt.

Cheers

Open the registry. Go to the toolbar to Registry>Import File and select it. A dialog will appear. Guide Windows to your registry file. Or if you want your registry back, you could restore a restore point. But that will erase all other changes you have made in the meantime. I don't kow what you have and how old it is.

In the meantime, if you need certain registry keys, post what else is missing and someone will be able to help.
I am running Win98SE tonight, but if you don't get help from someone else, I'll boot to XP and get you the key you need. Although I bet it's the same, I like to be careful with the Registry.

Sure. If you have the correct entry in the registry, I gave you a workaround so that you might enter the backups you mentioned. After that, you need to get the right entry to merge a registry file. I could give you my 98 key, but I prefer to wait until I boot to XP and give you that one. Even so, you are going to have to use the import registry file technique to get it entered.

Ok I booted to XP and exported the file. Copy the bold Print to notepad. Save as merge.reg
Import into the registry as discussed to restore merge .
