Files stay the same with same date and time of modification after each update.

EDIT: Files get updated if there is a real update (not the 84 k one).

Another "victim" here...

After all mentioned "solutions" nothing new.

A file of 84 kB constantly remains.

No solution yet?

Enjoy!

This is easily the biggest issue plaguing this current release.

Currently, from what we can tell, the "new update" is a cosmetic defect, as the databases are, in fact, being updated. As best we can tell, something is preventing our TFUN service from accurately reflecting this and therefore is saying you need more update. From our experience here, this can safely be ignored, as you are still experiencing full protection from ThreatFire and should be full protected.

As it were, we cannot reproduce this issue here despite our best efforts, so if you refer to the previous forum mentioned, which i believe, should contain the file link to NXDebug and a Debug-enabled TFUN, follow the aforementioned instructions attached to that thread, and give us the NXDebug output, we might be able to get something new, but for the life of us we can't seem to get this issue produced here to do the same.

Same problem on two PC's. Both are running Windows 7, latest Avira antivirus, Logitech Setpoint, Sandboxie, Eraser, Launchy and Wacom Pentablet software. I am unsure of if any if these are a factor however.

Thumbs up Possible Solution

I too had this 84kb update issue on all 3 of my lan pcs. Anyway 3 days ago I got some time to investigate the issue and came up with the the following solution.

Basically it involves changing the time on the affected pc to an earlier time. For this purpose I decided to change the time zone of the pc. Double click on the tray clock and select Time Zone tab. I'm at GMT + 10, so I selected something random like GMT - 5 or GMT - 6, click apply and OK it. Run smart update and you should get the 84 kb update, let it apply this update. Run smart update again and if the fix has worked for you it'll report that you're up to date.

Finally set your time zone back to the correct zone, apply, OK. You should no longer have the 84kb non update issue.

Three days later and everything is working as expected and time stamps indicate that everything is updating as usual on all 3 pcs.

Crazy ... it seems to work. I switched from GMT+1 to -8, ran SmartUpdate, was prompted to restart Windows, set time back to GMT+1, ran SmartUpdate again and - finally - no 84 k file is in the queue.

Default New Build 4.7.0.9

Just updated to the new build and Smart Update got stuck with a 318? kb update notification.

My previously posted work around still works.
