Version 9 scan removes local user profile
I have been using version 8 of Registry mechanic and then accepted the free upgrade to version 9. After completing a full scan, the first time I attempt to logon to the PC, I receive a message that there is no local user profile and XP then proceeds to create an entirely new profile for me. Then, my biometric fingerprint reader wants me to register my fingerprints all over again.
If I reverse the changes made from the scan, everything returns to normal. It is frustrating to sift through 100+ errors to try and find out which one is the culprit. Does anyone have a suggestion?
My PC is running WinXP Professional, with Kaspersky antivirus, all updates and service packs are up to date. The hardware has 2 sets of mirrored drives (one for the OS/installed programs and the other mirror is for documents, pictures, and other stored data).
I have a VISTA laptop which has Registry Mechanic 9 on it and runs without any problems after a scan.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
