Default auto-update without prompting at startup?

I just started using PC Tools Antivirus a couple days ago,
and I noticed after I first installed it, that the program doesn't
auto-update itself by default, which ticked me off from the get go
but I figured ok it must be in the settings somewhere, so I found
the scheduler, but its still not auto updating itself when the computer first starts, does PC Tools Antivirus update itself yet?

I'm just wondering because in Vista, the security alert goes off
every time my computer starts up, every single time,
saying that the antivirus is out of date, so every single day,
I have to bring up the antivirus program and run the smart update
every single morning I turn on my computer. I'm sorry, but that
functionality should have been in version 1.0, its annoying
to have that security alert pop up, and be prompted for your
admin password, every single time the computer starts up,
every single time!

is there a way to fix that? Also every other day since I installed
this antivirus program, firefox is really slow at starting up every time
I bring it up, slow to the point where it becomes unresponsive
for quite a while before it finally starts up. This weird behavior
stops as soon as I exit the antivirus program.

and I've got 4GB of system RAM in here, with a 3.3 ghz 64bit
processor in here, there is no reason why this should be happening
to me.

Hi Bubazoo,

Yes, PCTAV does not auto update at the start and this is a good suggestion which I have added and passed to the devs to be added in the next release. At this current time, you can only add a silent update in the scheduler, not for start up.

Regarding Firefox, could you temporarily disable File Guard and see if this solves the problem? Also, try changing the options in File Guard. What is it set to now?
