Error while unpacking program, code LP5

I downloaded the update for Spyware doctor, installed it, rebooted, and when I launch the program the first screen gives me a choice of "cancel" or "run smart update". When I click on smart update I get a message prompt "Error while unpacking program, code LP5. Please report to author."

At this point I cannot run Spyware Doctor and would like to know how to get the old code and install it as I would naturally not like to buy another program but this update has left my computer vulnerable.

Hello together,

well, as you can see, I've the same reason to be here.
After updating to the 2010 version, this happens.

Hope someone here can help me. At the moment I have the problem on WinXP,
but after this is fixed, I've to update also a Win7 and Win 2000.

On this there is Commodo as well as Firewall.

Hi there - just downloaded v10 from v7 and am getting the same error when trying to perform a smart update. My license is still valid and have tried disabling my firewall. No other antivirus software has touched this PC.

I've done a fresh install of paid version SDA-2010 v7.0.0.514 on a clean XP SP3 machine (with all applications closed even the firewall).
SDA will not update... I get the same error as everyone else in this thread.

I have lodged a support ticket but still have not heard back from them... I've been troubleshooting this for 3 days.

Seems to be a problem with the installer / application failing to install the Smart Update module in sdasetup.exe


I'd appreciate some help.
