Just installed Spyware Doctor with AV version 5.5.0.204. After opening the GUI interface, using the product, then attempting to close the GUI I get the error shown below. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the product, and don't have any other spyware or AV applications running. Platform is Windows XP Home Edition with SP2 with current security updates. Running a scan using PC Doctor w/AV reports no spyware or viruses found. I tried searching this forum for any other references to this error but did not get any hits. Just wondering if someone may know of a cause and/or fix.

With the Application error message you are recieving, can you please confirm when you are prompted with the error message? What was being done at that time? Are you able to use Spyware Doctor after?
Please complete an uninstall and reinstall of Spyware Doctor to see if the problem persists.
*NOTE* Please make sure you have downloaded the latest version of Spyware Doctor from our website, check Reinstall instructions for more details.
Uninstall
___________
1. Ensure that you have fully exited the application. To fully exit from Spyware Doctor please right click on the Spyware Doctor icon in the notification area (next to the clock on the Windows taskbar) and select Shutdown from the menu that appears. Please also close any instances of Internet Explorer or other browsers.
2. Perform an uninstall of Spyware Doctor from:
Start > Programs > Spyware Doctor > Uninstall Spyware Doctor
3. **IMPORTANT** Make sure that the Spyware Doctor folder (which by default would be under 'C:\Program Files') no longer exists. If the 'Spyware Doctor' folder still exists, please delete the folder.
Re-Install
____________
1. Download Spyware Doctor directly from www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/download/
2. Install Spyware Doctor that was downloaded in step #1 above
If the problem persists

As a Spyware Doctor user for many years, I never had any problems. However, I too get the same message after opeing SD and running a full scan.
Application Error: pctsGui.exe – Application Error
The instruction at “0x10003d70” referenced memory at “0x00000000”. The memory could not be “read”.
Click on OK to terminate the program
I do not get the same message when running the Intelli-scan. This problem has only been arising since April 2008.
When selecting 'OK' to terminate, the message will not disappear. Opening Task Manager is the only way to remove it (often after many attempts to end the task).
Same platform as above - Windows XP SP2 with all updates done automatically. I do not use the SD AV...use McAfee Security Suite.

Yeah, exact same error here! Everytime I try to close the GUI application down - it comes up with this error message. I have to click 'OK' about 30 times before it goes away.
Any clues? I have the latest Google Pack version installed and updated.
I am sure the first scan I did it didn't do this. Now it does it everytime. Is there a 'super uninstall everything' program you guys have that I could use so I can try a 'fresh' install again??
