Suggestions
Hello AChen
I have a few suggestions for improvement.
Maybe in version 2012, or near, You(Team) create funcion a`la Sonar, Download Insight in Norton.
I created for ex. photo.
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
- Security Map from Threatfire, but (better quality) in main menu.
- Sandbox
- Gadget for PCTIS
- After downloaded smart updates, we can see what`s been downloaded (Virus definition, bad sites etc. etc.)
- Add funcion (Close computer, after ending scan.)
- Browser Defender avaiable in Google Chrome
And i think the most important thing.
-Automatic upgrade to the latest version via Smart Update(Reboot only required) without reinstall program.
If my all suggestions (especially last) would be added to next version I'd be extremely happy.
Best Regards

Could PC Tools increase the update frequency? I know the product checks for updates several times a day but on an average only 1 update a day is released (for the comprehensive database). It's a little behind the times considering nearly all competitors now have at least 2-3 updates a day

I guess the compact database gets updated more frequently, but I am hoping that can be extended to the comprehensive database also

Hi XLR8R,
For ex. Norton (Pulse Updates), publishes new definitions - every 15 minutes. Full definitions about once every 8-12 hours, as it is in PC Tools products.Last edited by Chomas; 12-14-2012 at 06:54 PM.

Is it 12 hours? I never really checked....looking at my own history logs it always appeared there was only 1 database update a day for PCTIS on the comprehensive database. But then, I guess I haven't had it on for 24 hours continuously.

I have a little suggestion for SD and PCTIS: In the quarantine section; please add an option to "empty the quarantine". It gets a little tedious clicking on each sample and then clicking the "remove" button.

EDIT: Also, please display the results of context menu/right-click scan to the user even if no threats are detected. As it stands, currently the results are automatically displayed to me only when a threat is detected; otherwise I have to open the interface and see the results myself.Last edited by XLR8R; 12-26-2012 at 01:30 AM.

Hello Everyone,
Thanks for the suggestions. I will see if we can implement some of these changes in the next release.
Kind Regards,

Another suggestion: Please implement automatic program updates (or at least a notification when a program update is available) for the whole range of PC Tools protection products. I know it is not impossible as the regular Smart Update automatically updated build 2898 of Internet Security to 2900. A lot of users don't really check the website that much to search for new releases; so it would be better if there's a way of notifying them/automatically downloading the product build update.
