I recently installed an update (package 3?) for Office XP. It took a couple of times before it installed properly but now on start up I get a box marked:
Office Web Server Configuration Wizard
Inside the box is the message:
missing or incorrect command line parameters
I have no idea what is “missing or incorrect” or where it might be missing from. Nor do I know what the “Office Web Server Configuration Wizard” is. I have Registry Mechanic but it has not fixed this problem and I do not know what to do.
Best,
Jamie

Re: missing or incorrect command line parameters? (WXP-Pro)
My stepson downloaded the same service pack and had the same problem he said he had to do a system restore the first time he downloaded it. The second time he tried downloading that pack it really messed up his computer so bad that he had to reformat and reinstall Windows XP.

Re: missing or incorrect command line parameters? (WXP-Pro)
I too received this message after installing Win XP Pro, Nortons System Works 2004 and Office 2003. The install of NSW did not go well, so I had to uninstall, which failed and further manually uninstall.. I was required to download Microsoft Windows Script 5.6 at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
after doing this, and rebooting the Office message dissappeared..
I had to do use the NSW 2004 removal tool also, which removed & updated the registry. Depends on how/when you had your problems to what you do next.
Hope this helps..

Re: missing or incorrect command line parameters? (WXP-Pro)
Thanks for trying to help but I don’t understand what this script is meant to do for me. I tried uninstalling Office and reinstalling it along with installing this script but the error is still there.

Re: missing or incorrect command line parameters? (WXP-Pro)
I got rid of the S.O.B.
START>RUN>MSCONFIG
Go to the STARTUP tab
UNCHECK CFGWIZ, the apply and restart
GONE !!!!!!!!!
I've been all over the web on this one. It doesn't seem that disabling the Configuration Wizard does any harm.
I also unchecked other items that don't need to run at startup. They just slow it all down.
