Back in 2007 a user complained about "options" and it seems the complaint has not been addressed. However complaints are opportunities for improvement.;)
I have just scanned one of my disks, and spent hours transferring files back into a directory order.
The contents of the scanned drive have remained untouched (apart from being source for recovery). But as soon as I change "options" to a different recovery destination (still away from the drive being recovered) ALL the scan data is dumped.
I can see no logical reason for this. This alone dumps a product that would be 4 or 5 stars to 2. The order of buttons down the side leads the unwary directly into this trap.
I suggest the first thing to ask a user is "Where do you want to recover the files to?". Then "Where do you think the missing files are located?".
Then go and do your magic.....
In regards to your concern, our latest version of File Recover will have the option to change the recovery folder on the scan results page and you will not need to re scan your computer.
