PC Tools Internet Security 2010 SetUp doesn�t start

My PC: Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad-Core 2,4 GHz; Windows XP Home SP3

I had a license for PCTIS 2009. This ran off. Now I have a new license for PCTIS 2010. I would like to install PCTIS 2010.

I accomplished Uninstall and Re-Install (like AChen, 10-15-2009). Problem: after activating SetUp a window appears (see appendix), necessary �ReStart �. I would drive through ReStart and activate again SetUp. The same window appears. That is, the SetUp is not executable.

How soon before it will be updated to work with Firefox 3.6? It's fine with 3.5 but 3.6 ( beta at this point ) is a major improvement.

Hello Ever since Threatfire 4.7.9 is installed i can no longer launch vmware but if i remove threatfire it works fine, what could be causing this?

Cisco VPN and PC Tools Firewall Plus

This question has been asked & answered before in this thread:

However that was some time ago and apparently applied to an earlier version of the firewall. In any case, the instructions in that thread (see response from khimat the bottom of that thread) don't seem to apply to the current version.

Could anyone give me any instructions on how to make this work using the current version? The PC Tools firewall worked well with everything I needed to do except this. I hate the Cisco VPN software, but unfortunately it's an occasional work related necessity.

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide.

Ignored Threats?

After scanning my computer with a full system scan using PC Tools IS I have no viruses but I have 9 ignored threats. Is this bad? Is there anyway to remove these threats(serious or not.)

Modern Warfare 2 crashes with PCtools Firewall

Hello All

First post from me.

Been using PC Tools for quite some time without issue.
When running Modern Warfare 2, the screen hangs briefly, then I get a blue screen and the PC restarts. This happens everytime.

If I disable the PC Tools firewall, then I can run Modern Warfare without issue.

If this isn't the place to ask about issues with games, please ignore, but if anyone has any experience of this and knows of any config changes I can make to PC Tools which will resolve the issus, then please let me know.

Registry Mechanic will not repair all problems

Registry Mechanic will not repair all problems. I have rebooted into Safe Mode and run RM to repair problems and then run RM without repairing problems. The five logs from RM have been attached to this posting.

Any suggestions to fix this would be appreciated very much. My computer is continuing to close some programs because of system error(s).

Blocking a range of ip address

is is possible to block an entire range of ip address, ie

27.0.0.0 to 27.255.255.255.255 ? I want this rule to be in effect for all
traffice out of my system?

If possible is it available in the free version?

Update causing problems

I'm pretty much a novice but not totally.

Twice now a panel has appeared saying an update was available. So I installed. At the end of the installation another panel comes on saying a new network has been detected and I have a choice of selecting public, home, or work. But at this point I can not connect to the internet. My IP address has been lost. I tried to use the internal Microsoft tool to repair but it can't repair. The only way I knew to recover was to run System Restore.

The new network is:169.254.59.34/255.255.0.0 Which I looked up and it's the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority. There is a MAC Address 00-13-03-06-26-17 which shows as "GateConnect technolog"

After running System Restore a panel appears saying:Some Firewall initialization files have been tampered with by an external source so I should run Spyware to look for Malware. I ran AdAware and it picked up six tracking cookies.

Does anyone know what's happening and any advice of what to do ?

SD+AV Behavior Guard disabled

I have SD+AV on three machines, and one of them does not want to install the Behavior Guard. Now, this is similar to post 8/25/09 from kvsk99 regarding this tool (http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthr...behavior+guard), except for the Behavior Guard was enabled initially on that machine and then, for no apparent reason, became disabled. The message says "Spyware Doctor failed to install the Behavior Guard plugin".

I did not have FireThreat installed ever, and the registry entry, as specified in kvsk99 post, for the FireThreat does not exist.

I want to re-unstall the Spyware. My only concern is on your web-site you offer version 4 for OS 2000. The current version on my "BG disabled" PC is 6.0.0.386 (on the other two "enabled" machines v.6.1.0.447).

Here are my questions:
1. Can I do something to force the BG installation, without reinstalling SD+AV?
2. If not, where can I get the latest version 6.xxx for Win. 2000?

how to allow communication w/printer

It appears that the PC Tools Firewall Plus is blocking communication to my printer, a Brother HL2170-W.

Since I am not knowledgeable about firewalls, could someone tell me in plain English what to do so that the communication is not blocked. I searched under applications and cannot find anything related to Brother.

I am using Windows 7, 64-bit.
