Is there any way to use bitmaps as backgrounds in any window?.
Thanks.

Only by using a shareware app called WindowBlinds. Does a lot more, though.

There certainly is in 98, I have several folders with jpeg files as folder backgrounds. Unfortunately I'm at work on a 95 machine, and can't remember the exact sequence, but look in help for stuff about customising folders. I do know the end result is that a file called desktop.ini will appear in the folder, calling the image file

Yup, there needs to be a hidden file in the folder, called desktop.ini, with a line like
"IconArea_Image=C:\..\xxx.xxx" (no quotes), where you specify the path to your image (.bmp/.jpg/.gif). This is also possible on win95, but IE4/5 needs to be installed. Also the folder needs the attribute read-only.
But this just affects one folder, or was this meant with 'any folder' (?).
Regards...
NB Just for fun,... if you wanna present someone a folder with background, put the pic inside the folder (make it hidden) and make the line look like "IconArea_Image=.\xx.xxx". This won't survive a 'zip', though (read-only attribute gets lost..).
