A while ago, I ask what could be causing windows explorer to show all icons and cursors with the standard windows icons, I was told to delete the ShelllconCache, this did not work.

I have found the following file types in Regedit.

Under the following Folder

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.

.cur is ab Default "curfile"

.ico is ab Default "icofile"

I have been told that the content type for icon is the following.

"image/x-icon"

My question is this, does this belong in File types or in the Regestry and if it is in the Registry, can someone tell me if I have to add a new key, value or string, to the .ico folder.

Or just add the content type to File Types in Explorer, because in the drop down list I dont have this content type?

Also can someone tell me if I have to put this in the Registry how I do it exactly?
Thanks

Underneath the items curfile, icofile and iclfile, there's a key called Defaulticon.
The text string on the right, when this key is selected, should read "%1".

Hope this works...
