i tried the net ? and all that stuff, and the send command is not listed. the error message i get says the SEND command is unknown. does this mean my computer does not have it installed and there is no way i can use it, or is there some way to get it?
i am trying to communicate between networked computers, on a home network, using the run command.

i downloaded the program on both computers, but it didn't help. it accepts the command, but it doesn't show up on the other computer. does the other computer's command prompt have to be on? does it have to be in the same directory?

From browsing the net, I found a page that suggests running netsetup.exe, to enable/disable/configure the Net Send command. You can try that if you like, to see what happens.
