programs dont open

Hi I am just new to this forum.
I am having troubles with my .pif files (which are shortcuts to ms-dos programs). For example, I click on shortcut to ms-dos prompt on the startup menu and i get an error that:
"the object that "..." refers to has been removed or is unaccessible"
When I simply run the command.com file under c:\ it opens this window fine. How can I fix the .pif file properties. Can I use regedit to change the piffile values. Help me please. Am running windows 98 on toshiba satellite 2250.

It looks like the place that the short cut is looking for the file has moved

try and right click on the short cut on your desktop when you see the properties window cick on find target

if it finds it your ok but I think it with give you a options to find it if it can't find it
