i had the option to see the thumbnails in my pictures folder as small pictures (not in the preview window, but in the folder it self) and now i can't restore it. i tried changing the view setings from large icons to small and then back to thumbnails but it only shows me bigger icons in a box and not a small thumbnail of the picture it self, as it was suppose to.
please help me,
thanks a lot!
Guy.

Go to Start>Run, type regedit, hit Enter. navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.bmp Make sure there is a ShellEx key below, and below that a key named {BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1} When you click on that key, the (Default)Data should be {7376D660-C583-11d0-A3A5-00C04FD706EC}
You're going to need to check HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.gif and HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jpg

Then right-click on the folder, chose Enable Thumbnail View and then check the Read-Only attribute, then click View>Refresh from Windows Explorer's menu.

So as long as both boxes are checked it works correctly. If it doesn't work after refreshing, shutdown and restart.

Also check View>FolderOptions, then the View tab and make sure that "remember each folder's view settings" is checked.
