How can I re-direct the "find people" and "find on internet" menu selection on the Win Start Button to go to Netscape rather than IE5 - I do not use IE on my machine, I use Netscaape 4.76

Please be aware this is mostly a guess on my part. maybe others have more plausible answers. First, make sure you backup and document everything.
For Find people, you may be able to try something like this:
It would take a lot of experimenting and I don't have netscape at all. Here's a sample:
Locate the nsmapi32.dll, use a resource hacker to try to find a CLSID in it.
Then open regedit, navigate to:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{32714800-2E5F-11d0-8B85-00AA0044F941}
replace that CLSID with one from the nsmapi32.dll file.
Under InProcServer32, right-click on (Default) and type in C:\Program Files\Netscape\Communicator\Program\nsmapi32.dll
same thing under this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\CLASSES\CLSID\{3271480 0-2E5F-11d0-8B85-00AA0044F941}
Then navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\explorer\FindExtensions\Static\WabFind
Right-click on (Default) and type in the CLSID from Netscape
Under the 0 key:
Under LocalizedString, type in And People
Under the DefaultIcon key, type in the path to the icon you prefer.
Using the above as an example, you can try the Find on the internet key here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\explorer\FindExtensions\Static\WebSearc h
Good luck, have fun, BACKUP!

Hi Reghakr,
I'm new to 'resource hacking'. What app would you advise?
Cheers, Tony

Tony,
The best is freeware called <a target="_blank" href=http://rpi.net.au/~ajohnson/resourcehacker>Resource Hacker</a>

Hi Reghakr,
Thanks, that's the one that came up first in a Google search as well.
I was curious whether there were other and maybe better alternatives.
I'll download it, and will try to remember to 'tread carefully'... :-)
Cheers, Tony
