Blank Explorer Windows

When I open any windows such as IE, Explorer, My Computer anything like that, the area where the content should be displayed is blank, if you right click on the area a menu will come up with only a "close" option if you select that, whatever it was disappears and the contents of the window are displayed. I was wondering if a registry entry could be the cause of this? its only on shell related windows, it doesnt do it on games or programs.

any help at all is appreciated.

I fixed it, found 2 articles in MS knowledge base, did both so I am not sure which fixed it.

deleted both registry folders
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

and

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\StuckRects

works like a dream now.

If not, try this:

The columns have been resized to nothing. You need to press [Ctl] + [+] (the plus key on the numeric keypad) to get Windows to automatically resize the columns to fit the Window.
