I'm having the worst problem with the Movie Maker program when I try to save a movie in the .WMV format and then try to import. It save in the video only format fine and the sound .wma format just fine. But when I try to save it in audio and video or .wmv format.... I get an error message that says:
This file can't be imported. Make sure that it is a valid file type and that its contents have not been corrupted.
The saved videos say that they are saved in the WIndows audio/video format. They play in the windows media player fine and I even put them on CDR and played in another computer just fine. I even went to the media player tools/options/CD Audio section (like a help page suggested) and un-checked the ENABLE PERSONAL RIGHTS MANAGEMENT box... and it still won't work correctly?
I did the Gateway tech support and we have done everything except reinstall the WHOLE WINDOWS ME program... and frankly, since I'm new to using computers, I don't want to do that because I will loose all of my stuff and have to reinstall everything little thing (or so I'm told).
Does anyone have any experience with the Windows Movie Maker program? Have you come across this problem?
Will reinstalling Windows ME really put me in a position of re-install all of my other software? Is there a way to reinstall just the Movie Maker Program?
Microsoft said I can't ask tech questions of them because I bought my computer from Gateway and they are licensed to handle my tech support questions.
