I have created a html page in WORD 2000 to use as a signature for outgoing messages. This consists of a small image & two lines of text. Problem is, when I click New Mail to compose a new message, I can't see the picture. Just an empty box with an "x" in it. The picture is located in the same directory as the html file, so I can't see the problem.
Any ideas folks ?

You need the full path to the image. I just tried. It wouldn't work unless I used the path even if the picture was in the same Folder.

mosaic1,
When the new mail screen opened, I right clicked on the missing image and selected properties. It was showing the path of the image correctly, so I opened the html that WORD had created in notepad and checked. It was using an unusual path (with%20 in the path) so I changed it to the conventional path. Closed OE, restarted it and clicked New Mail. It opened correctly showing the image. Only trouble is, every time I click New Mail now, I get the error message "WARNING ! Your signature file is too large. It has been truncated. Please make the file smaller"
I checked and the file size is only 4.12kb and the image only 3kb. If I click OK, the message goes off and the signature looks how I want it to look, but I could do without the error message everytime I want to send mail.
Any ideas,
Thanks for your orevious advice. Spot on !

Believe it or not. That is too big. The size limit for a signature is 4k.

Just this second found that out. Now looking into a possible way of increasing OE's limit of 4k if anyone has any ideas ?

Thanks Mosaic1

You're welcome.

I think you may have a problem there. But have you thought of decreasing the color palette in the pictures? or possibly using a different font and seeing if you can decrease the kb's?
