Found this:

Tips and Tricks for Microsoft Windows XP

excerpt from article:

....You can foil such snooping by changing a registry entry. Use a registry editor to navigate to the HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management key and set the value of CleraPageFileAtShutdown to 1. After you do that, Windows fills inactive pages in the paging file with zeros whenever you shut down. Because this could slow down your system, don't make this change unless your security needs demand it.....

here it is...

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\SharedAccess]
"Start"=dword:00000002

the dword above is to Start it.

The dword below is to Stop it

"Start"=dword:00000003

Actually it's a Service. Located in control panel/admin tools/services.

you must restart before the changes take effect.

There are ICF options via the advanced tab of any internet connection. Adding the check basically starts the service and sets it to Auto Startup.

all options tie into the dword value.

Interestingly,

This is how I found this tweak.

1. go to services
2. double click on a Service
3. copy the contents of the description
4. Open regedit. Click on My Computer
5. search in the registry via the description
