I have an old windows 95 computer with w95 upgrade and I want to run msconfig, but no such file. Can it work and where do I get the file?

Windows 95 never came with msconfig. However, I remember looking some posts in here when you had to just get a copy of msconfig on your computer, and it would run, something to that effect. Do a search for msconfig in the forums, and I think you'll find your answer. Good luck.

Try this freeware:

<a target="_blank" href=http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml>Startup Control Panel</a>

Startup Control Panel is a nifty control panel applet that allows you to easily configure which programs run when your computer starts. It's simple to use and, like all my programs, is very small and won't burden your system. A valuable tool for system administrators!

Or You might be interested in this 3rd party clone for the msconfig tool in Win95. There is no registry editting needed, this one permanently deletes the entries if you choose that option.

It's called Startup Cop. It's freeware. Here's a link:
