Never had problem until creating most recent ISP dial-up. Simple matter to uncheck the
"disable call waiting....." in properties, and that worked fine with other ISP service I'm still with.
However, even with same item unchecked, and the small box grayed out ! (where *70 would be) , the number for new ISP is still preceded by *70 each time I go to log on , so I have to
delete it. (reason--have device which allows phone calls to get thru if you want them, but call
waiting must be OFF)
So, I did extensive searches thru-out all hard drive files, and the registry trying to find
(*70), (call waiting), etc. Thought I had nailed it when I discovered "telephon.ini", and was
able to see changes occur there as I tinkered with other settings in "Dialup Properties". So
I changed one part of a line which read "*70"......to read "" , indicating no entry. Well , I go
back and start the log on, and again appears the *70 before ISP phone number. A real
crazy maker !! Any ideas?
