Hi!
Is there a way to manage icons which appear in the system tray (other than 3rd party software)? There is a number of great utilities which display their icons in the system tray. Yet I want it to include only some of them. My question is:

How can you hide an icon of a program which is running on background (other than closing the program, of course) when nowhere in its Options there is the option to do so?

Where in the registry are the keys which tell the system to load the icon into the tray?

My OS is Windows 98.
Thanks,
Michael

There's only two way that I know of.
1- 3rd party software.
2- Make Explorer crash.
When Explorer crashes, most icons in the tray disapear. But you cant realy control wich ones to hide.
Sorry!

Yes there is a way to do it by editing windows registry. You can put any Programs that you want
to run under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run. Any Application that you put
under this key will automatic run when you logon and it will not show in the system tray.
