Hopefully someone has run into the following.......I downloaded and installed two programs to check them out.......eSafe Desktop and eSafe Mail.......after about 3 hours of playing with them, I decided to uninstall them........so, I went to Control Panel.......Add & Remove Programs and clicked on the eSafe Mail.......I uninstalled it.......at the end, it prompts to reboot to take effect.......I did.....

Then the fun began..........I went back into Control Panel........Add and Remove Programs and presto......I had only one program listed.......Windows Office XP Pro..........It appears that all the programs that were listed there still work but they do not appear in the Add and Remove window..........

Where did they go???????????;;;:)

First, see what's listed under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall

Not sure if this pertains to NT/2000, but in Win98, This can occur if a install program creasted a name longer than 63 characters.
Go to Start>Run, type regedit, hit Enter. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall
Click on the subfolders and look for a string value greater than 63, and delete the key
Before you delete the key, check the folder off the Startbutton for an uninstall icon for the specific program. If one doesn't exist, you can right-click on the UninstallString, choose modify and copy the path information to the clipboard. Now right-click on the Desktop and choose new>Shortcut and paste the info in this box. Name it Uninstall (*the name of the program*) Now you have a way to uninstall the program again.
