mouse speed in XP is incredible slow

Is there a registy tweak to raise the mouse speed?
At least in my german XP, the maximum speed is by far slower than in all former Windows versions (9x, NT, 2000)
This is Mac-like! :(
I´m a highspeedmousefreak!

Any hints?

Turn fine mouse movement off.

I'm not sure if that's the exact name, but it's a checkbox on the movement tab of the mouse applet.

I'm using logitech's new mouseware for xp, so I can't see the default mouse applet anymore.... But I know that bothered me too!

The mouse speed with both accelleration and pointer speed set at high is very fast for me... I'm not sure I understand your question, are you looking for something faster than the maxinum settings for both these controls?

If so, I would have to reccomend a different mouse/software combination such as a logitech with mouseware. Not sure if that would help you or not though. Maybe you could get a touchpad or use the mouse with your left hand if it bothers you.

Joseph! thanks for your time! i find the fastest settings still slow and therefore painful for me. i have weakened strength in my right hand. in earlier versions of windows i could set the acceleration faster. some said i could tweak the settings in the registry, but i am hesitant to try in win xp. thanks again for replying ric
