For some reason, if I get an email, then I delete it and then delete if from the Trash, my outlook gets the email again from the server. It was not always like this. I do not want to set it to Delete Messages from Server. Any clues?

Thanks!

The local mail program synchronizes itself with the mail server. When for some reason the download of messages to the local machine is considered incomplete, it will restart from the previous begin point, and you will see duplicate mails. This is true if your mail server is POP3 type. This effect will generally not be seen if the mail server is MSExchange, cause the messages remain stored at the server.

I realize this is for a different version and if you do actually mean Microsoft Outlook rather than just Outlook Expresss, I apologize:

OLEXP: Outlook Express 5 Downloads the Same E-Mail Message Multiple Times

------------------------------------------------------------
The information in this article applies to:

Microsoft Outlook Express version 5 for Windows 95
Microsoft Outlook Express version 5 for Windows 98

------------------------------------------------------------
SYMPTOMS
Outlook Express 5 may download the same e-mail message multiple times.

CAUSE
This behavior can occur when you have multiple e-mail accounts on the same POP3 server, and one account is configured to remove e-mail messages from the server and another is configured to leave e-mail messages on the server.

WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, configure all POP3 accounts to either leave a copy of the e-mail messages on the server or delete the e-mail messages from the server after the messages are downloaded. To do so, use the following steps:

In Outlook Express, click Tools, and then click Accounts.

On the Mail tab, click the mail account, and then click Properties.

On the Advanced tab in the Delivery section, click to select the Leave a copy of messages on server check box, and then choose the appropriate option for removing the messages from the server.

NOTE: If you want to download all your messages to your computer, click to clear the Leave a copy of messages on server check box, click Apply, click OK, and then click Close.

Click Apply, click OK, and then click Close.

Repeat steps 2-4 for each e-mail account listed.

It is really Outlook. 2002, in fact. I had the same problem with 2000. I think it is just a flaw.

Bah...just go to...

www.mail2web.com

log in with your email address and PW...

The message you keep getting will be there on the server...delete it...

wait 5 min...open Outlook...won't happen anymore with that message...

I know that if I DELETE it from the server it will not come back, but I dont want to do that. It should mark it as beind DOWNLOADED and therefore should not retrieve it again.
