logon user

[beginner]

I'm using Win98 ... I once add a use... but when i've deleted that user, i still have the password window when login ... is there anyway to get rid of that window

Ok lets try this. Right click on my computer and go to properties. On the properties page in the primary network logon box, change that to Microsoft Family Login OR Micrsoft Windows Login. Hit OK and DONT reboot yet. Next type sysedit and go to system.ini. scroll down till you see Pasword List and remove ALL under there. Now exit it and go to STAR>Find>Files and Folders. Do a search for all *.pwl files. When found delete them. Now reboot. When it reboots it will ask you for a login again. DO NOT type anything and just hit ENTER. DO NOT Cancel or escape out. You must leave the password blank and hit enter. Now it should nt ask for a username and passsword again and just boot into windows. This works about 90% of the time.
