Deleting a permanent file

How do I delete a permanent file? I installed this self-help software and it places a file on the system so I can't access other topics from the cd without purchasing a "key" from the company. I was told that I could go into regedit but even deleting the key it still doesn't let me do it. I even deleted the cookies for it. What do I do?
