i was running a video with WMP 6.4 in fullscreen with 'controls' turned on. the movie crashed during play. and when windows 2000AS finally sorted out what was its processes, my taskbar was gone. each time i log back into windows, i see the taskbar initially for a split second, and then nothing. i have tried everything under the sun to fix this, including the help from this site. my hunch is that WMP left a key in the registry corrupted when it crashed, which is telling windows all the time now not to display the taskbar. does anyone know what key this might be??

thanks

If the taskbar is missing from NT/2000;

After exporting the key:

Delete [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\StuckRects2

Find all occurances, then reboot.

Have you checked by hitting the cursor up against all sides to see if it's on auto-hide?

Hi All,
I also face same problem. But i was sure I move
mouse cursor over the edge screen and i delete the
correct registry key.

Thank you.

Check your drives for occurrence of Amcis32.dll or Aspam.exe
and check this website on the unlikely chance you have been infected.

This registry KEY is among those altered:

<font color=blue>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\StuckRects2</font color=blue>
