This is my first time posting to this forum and I must say I find the members here very knowledgeable and always willing to help. I guess that's why I'm about beg for your help:)
I am a musician and use my computer as my workstation for creating music. I have two drives in my computer one with the OS and all my music software, and the other I use for storing my music files. I am about to replace both. I would like to partition one drive and have the OS in one partition and install all software in the other partition.
My problem is I would like to retain my settings as they are now including updates. I'm just doing a clean install of the OS but everything else will remain the same. I'm backing everything up to my secondary drive, how or what should I back up so I can keep my settings? Do I have to reinstall all the software? How do I backup any updates to my software?
I know this is quite a few questions to be asking the first time around but I need help.
Any help would be appreciated.

If you have any form of burning software they ussually have a tool that allows you to make an iso image of everything that is on your computer thats the only way i know how to do it, when i do it on my home computer i either use nero or adaptec, the other guys may know a free way to do it

Good Luck

Thanks enjo0oy.
I do have adaptec. Pardon the ignorance but would the iso image include the OS?
