I have the RC2 release of XP and need to reinstall. I notice there's a repair option and a reinstall option when booting to XP cd. Will the reinstall option leave my program files alone or will it reformat the drive. The reinstall text seems to indicate that it will delete everything on the drive. Anyone have a clue on this?

Thanks.

The Repair option will leave everything in place, especially it will keep the registry if it is not damaged. All installed software is not touched. Only missing or lost (accidentially deleted) modules will be added again. Most important: all created user accounts are preserved.

The Reinstall will create a new installation og the operating system, including a fresh registry, either in the original system folder or in a new one (recommended). Warning: all users account are lost. All applications have to be reinstalled again (can be to the same location, no need to remove any files - this will speed up reinstallation).
