Starting up the computer takes a while, but I want it to completely start up in one go. Right now it takes a break asking me to 'log on'. There's no need for a password and there are no different 'users' here. So, is there a way to have Windows start up in one go, without the logon procedure?

-Thx

Picapica,

Try #3 first, it may do the trick alone, if not go through the following steps.

1. Go to Start>Find>Files & Folders... type in *.pwl and delete all .pwl files in c:\windows

2. Go to start>Run, type sysedit. Maximize the system.ini
Delete all lines under
[Password Lists]

3. Go to ControlPanel>Network
Choose Windows Logon as Primary Login

Reboot

You should now get the login box one last time. Type in your name. Just click OK for no password.

Get MS Power Toys install tweak and it will give you the option you want without basterdizing your O.S. and let you return to log in with no problem should you wish. (Power Toys are free from MS)

Hi - reghakr's advice is the standard way to reset a Win9x/Me to its state as after initial install (in respect to signon) and it does not *******ize anything.

"MS Power Toys" is a collection of tools, but J haven't seen any one of these adressing the login problem. Are we using different versions ?
