When ever I wake my puter from suspend mode, things in windows aren't like they where before. First of all, the system takes for ever to wake up. I get this blinking underline at the top left of my monitor that stays there forever untill I press space bar. Spacebar is the ONLY thing that brings back windows. But when windows comes back most icons in my system tray are gone (only volume control and ZoneAlarm are still there). Some times even my active desktop is gone, like explorer crashes every time I wake up the puter. I tried logging out from windows and than put the system to sleep at the logon dialog, but when I wake up the system afterwards, the logon dialog is gone and can't get back to windows. All I get is my background and no keyboard command works at all. Than is reboot time.

All that is realy getting on my nervs.
Can any one help me with that?

I did some test and I'm now sure that it's explorer that crashes every time I wake the puter. Windows is opening an error dialog when the puter is in the wakeup process. But I cant see that dialog cuz the screen is blacked-out. When I press spacebar the screen comes back cuz I'm actualy hitting the "Close" button on that hidden error dialog box.

I'm not sure about all this and I still dont know what is causing explorer to crash at wake up.
I'll check at microsoft.

Suspend is really a power-saving mode for laptops.
Why don't you just use APM to shut down the monitor & Hard Drives instead?

Oups sorry!
Did I say suspend? I Should have said "standby".
Standby is causing me trouble.

I think I have found the problem. I recently made a cleanup in my windows startup process with msconfig.exe. I had dissabled the "LoadPowerProfile" from the startup list. So I put back both "LPP" and restarted. The standby mode worked fine but it crashed only once since. But This is good. I'll run like that for a couple of days and see if all goes well.
